Our Wedding

Picture&nbsp;it;&nbsp;small&nbsp;town&nbsp;Fairborn&nbsp;Ohio,&nbsp;July&nbsp;2021.&nbsp;The&nbsp;world&nbsp;was&nbsp;regaining&nbsp;it's&nbsp;footing&nbsp;after&nbsp;a&nbsp;global&nbsp;pandemic,&nbsp;masks&nbsp;were&nbsp;thrown&nbsp;joyously&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;air,&nbsp;peoples&nbsp;proudly&nbsp;sported&nbsp;vaccine&nbsp;cards&nbsp;and&nbsp;bandages.&nbsp;Festivals&nbsp;cluttered&nbsp;parks&nbsp;and&nbsp;streets&nbsp;once&nbsp;more.&nbsp;At&nbsp;one&nbsp;such&nbsp;festival,&nbsp;two&nbsp;women&nbsp;meet.&nbsp;One&nbsp;starving&nbsp;for&nbsp;life,&nbsp;human&nbsp;interaction,&nbsp;and&nbsp;true&nbsp;love;&nbsp;the&nbsp;other&nbsp;wondering&nbsp;how&nbsp;much&nbsp;more&nbsp;love&nbsp;could&nbsp;fill&nbsp;her&nbsp;heart.&nbsp;Both&nbsp;open&nbsp;to&nbsp;possibilities,&nbsp;but&nbsp;neither&nbsp;suspecting&nbsp;what&nbsp;was&nbsp;to&nbsp;come.

We Fooled Around and Fell in Love

Spoiler&nbsp;Alert!!!&nbsp; They&nbsp;fell&nbsp;in&nbsp;love!! A&nbsp;few&nbsp;months&nbsp;after&nbsp;their&nbsp;meeting,&nbsp;Summer&nbsp;looked&nbsp;over&nbsp;her&nbsp;shoulder&nbsp;at&nbsp;Bridget,&nbsp;the&nbsp;warming&nbsp;morning&nbsp;sun&nbsp;illuminating&nbsp;a&nbsp;question&nbsp;in&nbsp;her&nbsp;eyes&nbsp;that&nbsp;poured&nbsp;forth&nbsp;from&nbsp;her&nbsp;soul.&nbsp;Bridget,&nbsp;helpless,&nbsp;fell&nbsp;deep&nbsp;into&nbsp;those&nbsp;pools,&nbsp;heart&nbsp;strings&nbsp;now&nbsp;firmly&nbsp;wrapped&nbsp;around&nbsp;Summer's&nbsp;little&nbsp;finger.&nbsp;&nbsp;And&nbsp;Summer&nbsp;wrapped&nbsp;those&nbsp;strings&nbsp;tight&nbsp;around&nbsp;her&nbsp;own&nbsp;heart.&nbsp;&nbsp;Feeling&nbsp;a&nbsp;love&nbsp;so&nbsp;strong&nbsp;she&nbsp;wanted&nbsp;it&nbsp;forever.&nbsp; While&nbsp;we&nbsp;didn't&nbsp;propose&nbsp;to&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;at&nbsp;our&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;place,&nbsp;Ohio&nbsp;Renaissance&nbsp;Faire,&nbsp;we&nbsp;did&nbsp;propose&nbsp;to&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;with&nbsp;our&nbsp;full&nbsp;heart.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Bridget&nbsp;surprised&nbsp;Summer&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;visit&nbsp;to&nbsp;see&nbsp;and&nbsp;play&nbsp;with&nbsp;her&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;animals,&nbsp;otters!&nbsp;&nbsp;Summer&nbsp;surprised&nbsp;Bridget&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;romantic&nbsp;scavenger&nbsp;hunt,&nbsp;that&nbsp;got&nbsp;a&nbsp;little&nbsp;out&nbsp;of&nbsp;order!&nbsp;&nbsp;We&nbsp;both&nbsp;try&nbsp;to&nbsp;listen&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;other,&nbsp;to&nbsp;make&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;happy,&nbsp;and&nbsp;to&nbsp;feel&nbsp;loved.&nbsp; Rumor&nbsp;has&nbsp;it,&nbsp;they&nbsp;both&nbsp;fall&nbsp;further&nbsp;in&nbsp;love&nbsp;with&nbsp;each&nbsp;passing&nbsp;moment.

The moment

In&nbsp;early&nbsp;spring&nbsp;of&nbsp;2024&nbsp;Summer&nbsp;and&nbsp;Bridget&nbsp;broke&nbsp;ground&nbsp;for&nbsp;their&nbsp;new&nbsp;home&nbsp;together.&nbsp;Summer&nbsp;was&nbsp;daunted,&nbsp;Bridget&nbsp;was&nbsp;ready&nbsp;for&nbsp;one&nbsp;crazy&nbsp;ride!!&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;a&nbsp;learning&nbsp;experience&nbsp;for&nbsp;all&nbsp;involved&nbsp;with&nbsp;only&nbsp;minor&nbsp;injuries.&nbsp; Once&nbsp;the&nbsp;home&nbsp;was&nbsp;built,&nbsp;we&nbsp;knew&nbsp;we&nbsp;could&nbsp;build&nbsp;anything&nbsp;together,&nbsp;including&nbsp;a&nbsp;life&nbsp;of&nbsp;love.

We have 25 rooms blocked at this particular hotel. While it is not really close to the Renaissance Festival, it is close to Bridget's mother's house, and we thought that may be comfortable for Bridget's side of the guest list.

It's pirate weekend! At the Renaissance Festival! And it's a wedding! Absolutely any type of clothing that is appropriate for any of those three occasions is permitted here. Make sure your censor bar bits are covered.We recommend a quick google search for Renaissance clothes, pirate costumes, to get the creative outfits flowing. Or just bring what you have in your closet.We suggest dressing in layers, September in Ohio is like a hot-pocket from the microwave, that next bite could be hot or cold. Above all, we want our guests to be comfortable.If you are down for dressing as a pirate, we encourage it! Bar wench? An English duke? Go for it! If you insist on a coat and tails, hoop skirt or black tie, that is your lovely decision. We will be thrilled to be seen with you in public.

Greene County Parks & Trails

An awesome little museum with walking trails all about the Shawnee people, their way of life here before and during the colonizers, and where they are and how they live now.

Great Council State Park

The very beloved local hippie college town. Shopping, beautifully decorated village, good food in any of the restaurants you walk into, a new and used bookstore, complete with shop cat.

Yellow Springs Shopping and Entertainment

Fabulous little main street of mom and pop stores including: Foys, four stores owned by a Halloween king, two costumes shops, a haunted house (seasonal), and a variety store. The Secret Chamber the best oddities and artwork shop in the state! The owner has a personal collection of haunted items in the basement, taxidermy on the walls, old medical utensils, prayer candles, and body parts for sale. No matter if you're just cruising for something cool, or an experience that fits in with Fairborn's spooky theme, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Bookery Fantasy, Bridget's first introduction to Fairborn. They've got two shops, across the street from each other, one is more comic books than you can shake a stick at, the other a spiffy little gaming store. If The Big Bang Theory had been filmed in the Dayton area, this would have been their hang out.
